Walking in the Spirit or Flesh

This post is in response to Romans 8 – He spoke volumes to me – this is not a study this is a result of personal connection (conversation).

Father, it appears that the difference in walking in the flesh and walking in the Spirit is based on the target destination.

If I make a choice that is based on the flesh it is usually because of the immediate reward.  I like the taste, the feeling or relief, the accumulative effect of those decisions are miserable.

When I make the choice based on Spirit it is difficult to do, only in the since that I don’t want to miss out on the immediate pleasure, but the accumulative effect of those decisions are wonderful and fulfilling.

The flesh’s promises are pleasing but their accumulative effect turns to disappointment.

The Spirit’s promises are desirable and their accumulative outcome results in significant fulfillment.

Thank You for reminding me as to my target destination.

Romans 8

26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

Spirit prays for me, and Jesus prays for me – they pray “according to the will of God.  Now who else knows the will of God better than they?  WOW!

They are talking to Father constantly concerning the issues, situations, conditions of my life – they do this DAILY.  WOW!

Just think, I don’t even have to ask them – they know SO they do!  WOW!

Father, I understand, at this point, that the Law dredges up sin, the Law uncovers sin, reveals all manner of sin, the Law does not remove sin, nor does it nullify sin it only reveals the depth of my bondage, marriage, or connectedness to sin.

In Christ I died, therefore IN CHRIST, I am no longer bound, married, or connected to sin so that BY FAITH IN CHRIST’S DEATH I am bound to, married to, and connected to Christ Jesus.  This makes me free from Law’s power to accuse me of death, it can only, now, confirm, affirm, and acknowledge my life in Christ.  All sacrifices prior to Christ are obsolete for He has fulfilled them making them superfluous.

Those outside Christ need the Law to reveal their sinfulness and those IN CHRIST have the Law to affirm their freedom from sin and their connectedness to Christ Jesus.  The Law has been written on the hearts of the Ones in Christ – TO REVEAL THAT THE LAW HAS BEEN FULFILLED.

I am FREE from sin; FREE from trying to fulfill the Law through sacrifices FOR IN CHRIST I am FREE to live in RIGHTEOUSNESS, HOLINESS, and FREEDOM from condemnation.
