Short Reads to Stimulate Long Thoughts

Mirror, Mirror, ….

Colossians 2

Here is an amazing video on God’s gifting.

Jesus is amazing, even more than His gifting.  “Mirror, mirror on the wall who’s the greatest of all?”  This is a phrase we  will remember for the rest of our lives.  There is only ONE unalterable answer.  It is,  . . . . S.

Colossians 2

6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.

I accepted Him by faith believing what He said was true, He could make me right before God and He wanted to live in me.  I didn’t just believe in/on Him but I believed Him by believing the Bible.  Now I am to continue BELIEVING and acting on that belief.

7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

I need to boldly express my intimacy with Jesus allowing my actions and words reveal His presence and my THANKFULNESS concerning our relationship.

8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come

from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.

9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.

10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ,

who is the head over every ruler and authority.

My intimacy with Christ brings me my since of completeness rather than circumstances and situations I find myself in.  My significance is not in what I can do but in Christ Jesus and all that He is in me and I in Him.

12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized.

And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted

the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.

Trusted, means I acted on the revelation God made about He and I.  My confidence lies in His POWER not my faith.  My faith is in Him not my faith.  I know that I will at times doubt and that doubt does not alter His word or nullify His power.

20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free

from the spiritual powers of this world.

My death in Christ disconnected me from all spiritual powers contrary to Christ and my resurrection to life with Christ assured me of my continued detachment from those powers and secures for me an abundant life in Christ.
