Short Reads to Stimulate Long Thoughts

Jesus our Life

Is there a difference in the meaning of these two sentences?

“Jesus give me the strength to …”

or

“Jesus be my strength to …”

Let us not remove Jesus from being our strength, by asking Him to give us something that is apart from Himself.

It is like salvation, Jesus is our salvation.  He doesn’t give us salvation like it is something that is detached from Himself.

Our life of intimacy and Oneness with Jesus is one that is shared not separated into two different lives.  He is our life, He does not give us a life other than Himself.

It is not Him and me living separate lives, but it is WE sharing our life in a Oneness initiated by Him.
