Do these in light of your intimacy with Jesus

be ready in season and out of season: when its convenient or not
reprove: warn and give confidence
rebuke: reprimand yet support and strengthen

with great patience: don’t give up, get frustrated, or accusatory
instruction: explanations, direction, clarity, purpose oriented

Do these in light of your intimacy with Jesus

be sober in all things: be calm, controlled, stay focused
endure hardship: don’t quite when beat on physically or disrupted emotionally, or challenged mentally
do the work of an evangelist: put in the effort, strive, press
fulfill your ministry: complete my task, my action, my responsibility, and stay accountable

2 Timothy 3: 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
Men moved by Spirit wrote what God wanted written. They did not write what they thought He wanted said, as I might today. This inspiration has a much higher degree of decree. The reason that Scripture is profitable for teaching, for reproof, correction and training in righteousness is because Scripture reveals Jesus, in me and I in Him. As a result I begin to see the inadequacies of the flesh, the influences of the world, and the deceptions of Satan. But this only happens as I focus on Jesus, who resides in me and I in Him.

The more I concentrate on the inadequacies of the flesh, the influences of the world and the deceptions of Satan, the less I experience life in Christ. It is only when my focus is on Jesus and Our life together that I experience of the abundant life in Christ; my purpose for reading Scripture is to focus on Jesus, Father, and Spirit.

2 Timothy 2

2 Timothy 2: Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel, for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned. 10 For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ

Salvation is Christ Himself, He does not dispense Salvation as though it were a prescription, He gives Himself for He is the Prescription and Salvation is found only in His Presence.  Salvation or any other gift found in Christ is not a separate something that we can receive and walk away from Christ Jesus with, no, they are extensions of Himself, apart from Him they do not exist, for they are Him and I must embrace Him to experience the truth of their reality.

To try and embrace Salvation apart from Christ Jesus or any other gift found ‘in Christ’ is like sticking my finger in a bucket of water, pulling it out and expecting to see a hole left where my finger was.  I must embrace CHRIST, become intimate with Him.  Yes, He is Deity, yet if He does not become my brother, friend or partner as a result of “Christ lives in me” then I have missed the most significant aspect of the Gospel.

and with it eternal glory. 11 It is a trustworthy statement:

For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.  (NASB)

2 Timothy 2 (NASB)

What is Jesus saying about Himself and what He wants?

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Always be on active duty.

No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. Also if anyone competes as an athlete,

Always be in training and involved.

he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules. The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.

Always be creative and enjoy the journey with Me.

Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

Always be alert and always in communication with Me – talk to me all day long – in every activity – while making choices and during the implementing of those choices.

I know His past, His Cross, His tomb, His Resurrection and His Ascension,

along with His promise to Return.  My hope is fixed, I know my destination.

But my sight is focused on our life together in the present,

living each day transfixed on His person,

seeing His presence in the here and now.

He called me to die but once with Him,

then to live each day sharing His life with Him.

Jesus lead to Calvary

Placed on a cross

Buried in a tomb

The cross torn down

The tomb forgotten

But Jesus lives on

A lashing whip

A crown of thorns

A piercing spear

Feet and hands nailed

Ridiculed and spat upon

Yet Jesus lives on

The whip decayed

The robe gambled away

Thorn and crown rotted

Spear broken and gone

Nails are no more

Still Jesus lives on

His life abides

But not alone

Others dwell with Him

And He with them

Members together

 And Jesus lives on

Living water

Filled with light

Knitted in Oneness

Life giving sight

He in me, I in Him

Thus Jesus lives on

Peace for evermore

Joy unspeakable

Praise resounding

Love’s compelling song

Life abundant, excited, expectant

Because, Jesus lives on

Strong in Grace

2 Timothy 2 (NASB)

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Grace is part-and–parcel with Jesus.  Grace is Jesus, therefore to be strong in His grace is to be aware of and be pursuing intimacy with Jesus.  What is so exciting is, to be One with Jesus puts us in Oneness with Father and Spirit.  I don’t understand how it works but I do know it works, not understanding does not mean I can’t believe.  Now I must choose to live in light of my believing or knowing so I can exemplify Oneness’ working on the bases of faith not understanding.  I will believe enough to ensue, and trust His in life, which gives me the grace to do.
