2 Timothy 2
2 Timothy 2: 8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel, 9 for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned. 10 For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ
Salvation is Christ Himself, He does not dispense Salvation as though it were a prescription, He gives Himself for He is the Prescription and Salvation is found only in His Presence. Salvation or any other gift found in Christ is not a separate something that we can receive and walk away from Christ Jesus with, no, they are extensions of Himself, apart from Him they do not exist, for they are Him and I must embrace Him to experience the truth of their reality.
To try and embrace Salvation apart from Christ Jesus or any other gift found ‘in Christ’ is like sticking my finger in a bucket of water, pulling it out and expecting to see a hole left where my finger was. I must embrace CHRIST, become intimate with Him. Yes, He is Deity, yet if He does not become my brother, friend or partner as a result of “Christ lives in me” then I have missed the most significant aspect of the Gospel.
and with it eternal glory. 11 It is a trustworthy statement:
For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. (NASB)
